  • How does Qira work?

    There are 4 easy steps:

    1. Tenant receives invite to Qira from Landlord
    2. Tenant completes the online application and receives a response within 1 minute
    3. Landlord and Tenant agree on lease terms
    4. Tenant signs their Qira application and moves in!

  • Don’t have a landlord yet?

    No Problem! Submit your application and we will help you find a fitting building.

  • Have a landlord but need help with the security deposit?

    No Problem! Submit your application and we will contact your landlord on your behalf.

  • How fast is my Qira application approved?

    Pre-approval is instantaneous. We will notify you or your landlord as soon as you have completed your application on our system.

  • What if I have a past eviction or bankruptcy?

    Qira factors in a number of criteria when making application decisions. Past rental and credit history is a strong indicator of future behavior but certainly not the only important event. We evaluate your application in its entirety when making a final decision. The most important thing you can do is to be upfront and comprehensive when you apply.

  • I am a student. I don’t have a FICO. I am a freelancer. Can I use Qira?

    Yes. Yes. Yes. We can work with EVERYONE

  • Can I apply with a roommate?

    Yes. Qira will allow roommates to apply. You will each need to fill out a separate Qira application and note that you are applying with a roommate on the application.

  • What do I need to supply when applying?

    SSN, proof of ID, proof of employment & income are required.

  • Is it safe to apply?

    Yes, Qira takes security and safety very seriously.

  • I can’t connect my bank / My bank is not stated, how do I continue my application?

    You can send your 3 last bank statements in pdf format to support@qira.com if you have issues connecting your bank.

  • How much does Qira cost tenants?

    For security deposits, once the lease has been finalized, the Qira fee is 1% -2.5% of your total lease value, depending on your financial profile.

  • When do I pay the Qira fee?

    The Qira fee is paid only after you have finalized your lease agreement. Once you have connected your bank to our platform and accepted the repayment schedule, Qira will notify you and your landlord that you can commence with the lease signing.

  • Does Qira cover my late or missed rent payments?

    No. Qira is not an insurance for the renter. If you are late or miss rent payments, your landlord will likely commence with eviction proceedings. In fact, in order for landlords to make a claim against Qira for lost rent payments, they will need to provide proof of eviction proceedings. So make sure to pay your rent every month, on-time!

  • Do I pay my rent to Qira or the property manager?

    Rent is always paid to your landlord, as usual. Qira is only part of the lease approval process. Once Qira gets you approved, we step away and you interact with your new landlord.. Of course, we'll still be here if you have any questions for us.

  • Are you working with all states?

    Yes.

  • What is covered?

    We cover damage, unpaid rent, skipped rent and many other issues.

  • Is this a bond?

    No. We don’t believe bonds are efficient for the market. They are expensive for tenants and require a landlord to deal with an insurance company to recoup any of the funds.

  • How much does Qira cost partners?

    Qira is FREE for property managers, real estate brokers and landlords.

  • Why should we partner with Qira?

    We are the only company to work with ALL tenants. We have a program to fit any tenant.

  • How many months coverage do I have?

    Anywhere from 1 month to 12 months of coverage. And guess what, the tenant pays the same amount regardless of the coverage.

  • How do I make a claim?

    1-Click. Yep, click “Claim” and upload the documents to support the claim.

  • How long does it take to review a claim?

    We review claims within 12 hours! We often are able to help you recoup the funds that are in excess to our program. Claim cash is sent the SAME DAY. We make sure your books are trued-up quickly and have the cash needed to repair the apartment.

  • How can I check the status of a claim?

    We are people, not a telephone line or a calling center. You can view the claim right on your landlord dashboard.

  • Are you working with commercial buildings?

    No, we work only with residential housing.

  • How do I offer Qira?
